TruffleGirl, who we also name “Mui-Mui”, was 15.5 years old. She passed away on 1/24/05; just three weeks after she was diagnosed with Kidney Disease (CRF). She stopped eating and then drinking in her last days. We gave her SQ fluid injection and tried force-feeding her but it did not help. She had gotten so weak that she keeps fallen down. It was so sad. It was obvious that she was starting to suffer. We have no choice but to make the difficult decision of putting her to sleep on 1/24/05. It was absolutely the hardest decision in my life. I can’t recall I cried so hard ever and I am a grown man. The day before she was put to sleep we took her to Santa Cruz to see the ocean. The last thing I whisper in her ear as she was being put to sleep was “ Say Hi if you recognize me in your next life, I will do the same.” A week later she was given a private/witness cremation in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountain on a clear and sunny Sunday morning. Her paw prints were taken before the cremation. Mr. Trent Thompson of Caring Pet Service let me put her onto the ceramic cremation tablet myself. She was our buddy for almost 16 years, we shall forever miss her. John Tipo Hui, San Jose, CA
What a beautiful cat. I am sorry for your loss. She had 15.5 years with your family and now she is in a better place. I put my cat to sleep on 01/14/05 as he had a tumor growing off of his liver. He was starting to have trouble walking because of the size of the tumor, so I can empathize with what you are going through. Your cat is very fortunate to have such a loving owner.

Hello Krisanddale,
Thanks for the kind words for ourt TruffleGirl. That's a great photo of Sidney. It must have been a difficult time for your family and for Sidney in Sidney's last months. So sorry to hear that you had to put your other cat to sleep three years ago. Nevertheless, the joy of having pets and the good life you give to them far out weight any unpleasant eventuality.

Your Truffle Girl- "Mui-Mui" was not only beautiful...she was very lucky to have such a loving owner. Your post made me cry as I had to have my best friend put down 3 yrs. ago due to kidney failure. I also whispered in her ear to "wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge". You will see your Truffle Girl once again....I'm sure she'll be waiting for you.
