Super enclosure!

How tall is that cage? What are the dimensions of that cage?

How big is the snake? It looks really terrific!

I really think that your enclosure is really cool. It's very "trendy" or "futuristic-y" looking. Where did you get that? Did you build it yourself? If so - great job!

Thanks for the reply!

About how wide is that cage? It is really spectacular! How much did it run you? Also, does it have a name/model number? I would love to get one of them...

Do they normally have these great cages at reptile shows?

(On a side note, are cages usually cheaper at reptile shows?)

If you have more pics of your setup, I would love to see them. It is really great!

Thanks again...

I think it is like 20" wide. I honestly don't remember what the place was that i bought it from but yes you would be able to find one at a reptile show especially if you went to one of the bigger ones. It was pretty cheap if i remember right. like $35.

Everything is cheaper at the shows from my experience.

WOW! $35 is a steal! I'm gonna definitely go to one of the bigger shows in the NY area... (Thanks again!)

That cage is plenty high, but not wide enough for that animal. The general rule is that the snake should be able to stretch out to half of its length. No way that carpet can do that in there. I suggest you find another cage before that snake gets stressed out and stops feeding or worse.

You take him out of his cage everyday? For how long?

I have heard/read that taking out a JCP everyday (or any snake) will "stress it out" - but you say that this doesn't happen to your snake.

My philosophy is, if I get the snake as a baby and he is conditioned to being taken out everyday to sit with me, he will get used to being out and used to being with me. Am I wrong?

yes I have him and my two ball pythons out all of the time. they are all very docile snakes and I have never had a problem with them not eating due to stress or anything else. I've kept snakes for about 13 years now from rainbow boas to carpets and in my experience if they are handled frequently for brief periods of time even the most fiesty of snakes can become quite calm.

thanks for the suggestion on needing a larger tank. I can assure you that he is in no way stressed and i can assure you even more that this snake will not stop feeding. I've actually never had a snake that feeds as readily as this one. he gets plenty of time to fully stretch as i have him out of his cage daily. I believe carpets need a taller enclosure as opposed to wide. with that said, he is ready for a larger tank now. amazing how fast they grow.
