For reference, the tile grout in the photo is 1/4 inch.
I've been finding one or two of these a week. I live in the DC Metro area. Any help identifying would be appreciated.
Thanks for the comments. I hope that you're right in that it is not a brown recluse. I didn't do any research until after I took the photos (and disposed of the body) so I couldn't check for the violin shape. This, unfortunately, was the best picture I was able to get with my 4mp camera.
I'm hoping to see another that I can get some better pictures of to post. I didn't realize it until after I was done taking pictures, but it appeared to be half-dead already because it barely moved when I picked it up (notice the legs seem to be curled inward oddly?).

it might be the fuzzy photo but i dont believe that is our friend Loxosceles reclusa....
Heres my reasoning for this statement... from the picture this little biter seems to have more hair on its legs than the recluse typically would... on top of that the photo is a bit fuzzy though i cant really see the makings of the violin shape on the thorax
Also I would like to point out that the spider in question has pretty meaty legs which the recluse is also not known for.
Though I am reluctant to chalk that up to a Lycosidae.
I will post again with further thoughts later today.
Any additions anyone?

Yes chances are it was on its way out.
I will say one thing.. regardless of what I said it was proceed with caution untill you get a second opinion from a more seasoned id'er but I believe I disproved this imposter.

This is absolutely, positively 100% not a brown recluse. I have become the expert. I moved into a house that was infested with them. At first, I hated recluses, now I enjoy them. The spider you have here is the common wolf spider.
Check out my photos I have posted on this site and you will see several recluses.
