hey, I was wondering what kind of spider this is. My baby was bitten by one that looks just like this one, and I was hoping someone could tell me more about this spider or ones similar to this one so I could have some more info on it. I saved the spider and took it to the doctor's & they weren't sure what kind it was but it's dried out now and it's harder to identify through pictures... I've never seen one like it before... but the one I have is small, and the bite was huge... so were the spiders fangs though, for such a small spider. please help if at all possible in my search to discover what kind of spider it was

I am the one who took that picture. I took it a few years ago when I lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan. My apartment was full of them and I was trying to find out what kind of spider it was.
The spider is about the size of a nickel or quarter and runs very fast along the ground. It only stays on the ground, and usually in dark corners. It usually has no web. If anything, there is a small "mess" of a web built in the corner where it is standing.
I took this picture when the spider was running across the room on the carpet. They run very fast! Any idea what kind of spider this is?

I live in Florida and we have that same type here. It's a wolf spider. They generally don't make webs because thet are hunters. They usuall won't attack, they run away. Wolf spiders feed on roaches, beetles, smaller spiders and mosquitos. Actuall very handy in the house to keep other bugs to a minimum. I hope this helps you.
