I read up more on these Bandy-Bandy snakes and they really are quite interesting! I must have missed that episode of Croc Hunter :-( It is amazing how much they look like a King. I guess they don't usually bite when handled even though they are venonmous :-)

I have always fed my snakes live mice but lately I switch back and forth with thawed/live mice. They do fine either way. You are right about not too many varieties of snakes to hunt in Ca. I went to TN a couple of weeks ago and was so thrilled to catch a 4 ft. long Eastern King. Considering I don't catch diddly squat out here :-)

im surprised you dont catch anything in bakersfield. i live in riverside ca and i come across snakes alot. just on sunday i caught a cal king, but of coarse i let it go. i am currently keeping a rosy boa that i caught. theyre out there just gotta be in the right place at the right time i quess.
